Deepwater Conference, Brazil
Rio de Janerio, Brazil
October 2010
On the 27th October Inogen® Associates Delta Consultants Inc, and Angel Ambiental combined efforts and represented Inogen at the third annual Brazilian Deepwater Congress in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.
The Congress focused on the Brazilian offshore Exploration and Production (E&P) development, investment and partnership perspectives, impacts of the GoM accident on Brazilian E&P activity and the main engineering solutions for deepwater challenges.
The conference attracted more than 100 professionals from the industry, including key experts from the Brazilian authorities, some of the major energy companies including Petrobas, Shell, BG and Chevron, suppliers from the industry and consulting firms within the industry.
Inogen was one of the main sponsors for the event and Dustin R Rusch, Corporate HSSE Manager and Senior Consultant from Delta, was one of the key presenters at the Congress and discussed lessons learned from Delta's continued engagement in the Gulf of Mexico on the topics of incident command system response, incident-specific site safety and emergency action planning, and worker training and exposure monitoring for oil spill cleanup efforts.
On the significance of this presentation opportunity, Mr. Rusch comments, "The value of shared learning's cannot be understated. The industry must study past practices in order to identify opportunities to improve. It was very rewarding to share our experiences related to the Gulf of Mexico clean-up response, so that others have validated context to guide their responses should they face similar situations."
There were many opportunities for Inogen, including making new contacts with Devon, one of the biggest oil and gas players in Brazil, NGX one of the biggest National off-shore companies and IBAMA, the National Environmental Agency.
Rivaldo Mello, Angel Ambientel comments "this conference provided Inogen with great exposure in the oil and gas market. We were able to demonstrate our technical competency whilst offering something unique to the table. We hope that some good opportunities will come out of this event."
