Dr. Gemma Williams joined in February 2016 and brings nine years of experience as an environmental toxicologist and risk assessor in both Australia and the United States. Her experience includes: human health and ecological risk assessment, environmental toxicology, analytical chemistry, vapour intrusion assessment, environmental site assessment and environmental auditing. Gemma has undertaken human health and ecological risk assessments at a range of former gasworks sites, fire training facilities and mine sites across Australia. She has also conducted risk assessments at a range of industrial sites in the USA. In addition, Gemma has considerable experience in the environmental investigation and risk assessment of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PFAS are an emerging group of contaminants which are known to be persistent in the environment, bioaccumulative and toxic.
Clare Riegert joined the risk assessment team in April 2016. Her diverse experience includes: human health and ecological assessment, air quality assessments, EHS compliance management, development of remedial programs, analytical chemistry and statistical analysis. Clare has undertaken environmental assessments and risk assessments at a range of sites including former paper mills, wastewater treatment plants, and quarries. In addition, Clare has contributed to the development of a risk prioritisation tool for local government councils to allow for the management of large property portfolios.
